In our Johannesburg lab we offer one of the largest PCR and molecular biology facilities in the southern hemisphere. Because of the nature of clinical trials in Africa the focus is on infectious diseases such as HIV, HBV and TB. On this front BARC pioneers with an integrated approach to Tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis. Our new P3 TB lab has integrated esoteric and clinical pathology, enabling accurate and rapid diagnosis that significantly reduces reporting time.
Another major investment was made through the creation of a world class biobanking facility with a storage capacity up to 2 million clinical trial samples in - 80°C freezer storage and liquid nitrogen.
